You’ll get recommendations from the app but we love that you’ll also receive seriously in-depth info about specific bottles.

The app that Business Insider once called “Booze Google.” Expert reviews of an array of spirits, barcode scanning, recommendations, a “playlist” feature… This app is an excellent way to discover new bottles before buying them for your venue or home bar.

Vartender: Whiskey Concierge

If you’re looking for one whiskey app, you should give Vartender serious consideration. This app provides insights into mainstream and craft American whiskeys; makes it easy to research bottles before making purchases; informs users about whiskey events; and offers whiskey education.

Maker’s Mark Ambassador

Did you know you can become a Maker’s Mark ambassador in just moments? No, you won’t be given a territory, but you will enjoy some rad perks for signing up. One of those perks happens to be your name on a Maker’s Mark barrel. The Ambassador app lets you track “your” barrel’s journey, fill to aging to bottling—among other features.

But it’s the free inventory function that got our attention. Scan your bottles, check out notes and add your own, and compare purchase prices. This is a must-have feature for those investing in whiskey.

I mean…c’mon. No list like this would be complete without encouraging people to download and use Untappd. This app does more than just provide beer neophytes, the beer-curious and beer aficionados with the ability to rate and discover. Untappd is a connected community that gives beer fans a fun way to engage with bars, breweries, bottle shops and other places that serve beer. If you sell beer, you should be active on Untappd.
