6 Days of Gifts: The Villains’ Holiday Guide, Sparkling & Spirits

It’s the holiday season and that means one thing: We’re this close to slamming the lid shut on the dumpster fire that is 2020!

For the next six weekdays, we’ll be sharing items that we think would make great presents for team members, top performers, loyal guests (in-person, delivery or takeout), charity raffles, family, friends…everyone, really. We’ll also highlight a 501(c)(3) nonprofit for those who prefer that form of giving or the numbers and/or websites for resources that support those who are struggling.

There are people all over the country that probably don’t feel like they have much to celebrate and aren’t in the holiday mood. If one has the means, donating to a local charity, sponsoring a family, or providing for struggling employees would be an incredible gesture this year. Just checking in on team members, family, friends, and neighbors with genuine interest—safely, of course—so they know someone cares can go a long way.

Today, we’re featuring spirits-based items that will make great gifts or raffle prizes this year. We did our best to choose items with retail prices around $50 or less.

Happy holidays, cheers, and the Villains hope everyone has a safe and healthy December!

Avaline Sparkling Wine ($26)

Proponents of transparency in the wine world, Avaline launched their Sparkling expression in time for year-end celebrations. This dry, vegan-friendly sparkler is produced by family-owned Spanish winery Raventos i Blanc using a blend of Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada grapes. Learn more on the Avaline website.

Gancia Prosecco Rosé D.O.C. ($12)

This is another highly anticipated sparkling wine being released for end-of-year festivities. Gancia combines two popular wine trends, Prosecco and rosé, to create a sparkler sure to be a hit with the budget-minded and aficionados alike.

Rey Campero Mezcal Espadín ($55)

Giving someone a unique gift is always satisfying. Rey Campero is an artisanal brand produced by a maestro mezcalero. This Espadín is produced in Oaxaca, distilled in copper, and aged in glass. Available through Drizly here.

Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey ($30)

We’re just weeks away from putting 2020 behind us. Proper No. Twelve is dressing up their bottles so fans can give this year a Proper Irish Exit. Anyone planning to celebrate the end of 2020 with Proper No. Twelve can follow the brand @ProperWhiskey and tag their toast posts with #ProperIrishExit. Available via Drizly here (may not arrive in gift box packaging).

Flaviar ($190-300)

We know—this one is spendy compared to the others on this list. There are two options to gift Flaviar to a lucky recipient: the half-year subscription for $190 and the full-year option for $300. Follow this link to give the gift of Flaviar, which includes one premium bottle and one themed tasting box of the recipient’s choosing per quarter, access to rare and exclusive bottles, members-only events, unlimited free shipping on qualifying orders, and more.

Southern Smoke

We chose to feature the Southern Smoke Foundation for today’s Holiday Gift Guide post. Donations can be made here and make it possible for this 501(c)(3) nonprofit to help food and beverage workers in crisis.
